Packaged Thermal Oxidizers (PTO)
Smith PTO is designed to thermally or catalytically abate VOC, air
toxics, or odor emissions. Two heat exchange canisters packed with ceramic media
(either random or structured packing) recover and reuse thermal energy from the
oxidation process to yield substantial natural gas cost savings -- from 80% up to
95%!
The PTO combines proven oxidizer technology with cost-saving
features to offer you a cost-effective way to meet destruction/removal efficiency
requirements of up to 98% without spending more money than you have to.
The
PTO is shippable as one piece. It
is skid-mounted, light weight, shop-asssembled, and shop wired. Its streamline
design reduces fabrication, shipping, and installation cost, and plant space. An
innovative plenum and valve design reduces equipment size and decreases pressure drop
(power savings). Rapid cycle changes and low valve leakage achieves maximum removal
efficiencies.
The SMITH
PTO is a pre-engineered unit and designed to handle
flows up to approximately 30,000 scfm (depending upon the application). The PTO
recovers and reuses waste heat generated during oxidation to substantially reduce your
fuel bill. Injection of natural gas into the inlet further reduces fuel costs.
Forced-draft designs have the fan operating at the cool inlet to minimize fan size
and power costs.
